Idaho Technology, Inc. is a privately held biotechnology company located in the University of Utah Research Park in Salt Lake City, Utah. Founded in 1990, Idaho Technology licensed a pioneering technology from the University of Utah for the world's fastest DNA based biological agent and pathogen detection device. Researchers, medical technicians, law enforcement officers, and even soldiers in the field use the company's devices to detect or study disease-causing organisms.
Some of their products include:
One interesting accomplishment is their anthrax detection kit. With the efforts of the United States Army, Navy and Air Force, their laboratories produced a kit that reduced the time for detection to 1 hour. Prior methods, such as growing a culture, can take as long as several days for results. On 12 October 2007, this kit won FDA approval.[1]
